Laura Maresc seeks to reconcile the tension created when incorporating different organic and inorganic materials in her sculpture, working to find equilibrium whithin discordance.
Her practice is firmly rooted in the "objet trouvé" tradition, where the process of sourcing objects and materials itself adds new layers of meaning to the artworks - objects which she finds in her entourage in the Island of Formentera and in Andorra- as she divides her time in between these two places.
She professes a preference for the use of organic materials, slate, cotton, and maintains quite a tight chromatic range that go from beiges to salmon.
