The Taranmana Gallery in Escaldes-Engordany presents an exhibition of the most recent work by Regina Giménez. The body of work is of large-format and delves into the artist's artistic creativity.

A creativity based on repeated geometries that come from a very personal research based on maps or cosmologies where the textures and chromatisms give a very personal and authentic character. 

Regina Giménez defines herself as a painter and graphic artist.

I am interested in talking about this discipline, that of graphic art, which is so present in contemporary art. Picasso, Miró, Chagall, Matisse, to name just a few, who were some of the most influential artists of the 20th century, as well as contemporary artists such as Plensa, Chillida, Barceló or Manolo Valdés, amongst others: all of them have systematically worked on graphic work as a means of artistic expression that takes them into experimentation. Experimenting with new media and new media is a very contemporary attitude in the creative process. As well as the concept of multiple work highlighted by the German philosopher Walter Benjamin in his essay "The work of art in the age of technical reproducibility", which suggests that serialization and reproducibility eliminates the aura of the original artwork which is precisely its value.

The fact that it is a multiple work makes the purchase values acceptable to many audiences which give it a very valuable stamp today. In fact, there are many art consultants who advise their clients to get started in graphic art to create a collection or if they want to invest. Why? Because of the opportunity to form an important collection of contemporary art at very accessible values. This is evidenced by the success of the last Sotheby's auction of "prints & multiples", which had a turnover of more than two million dollars. 

But what does one need to know to buy a good artwork'

1. Look into a consolidated artist

2. The work must be numbered and signed by the artist

3. The numbering should be low, preferably not over 20 copies.

Numerous exhibitions are dedicated to this artistic discipline that mark the notoriety of graphic work within the contemporary artistic production. The Maeght Foundation, the MoMa, the MET and the Guggenheim in New York often hold exhibitions focused on graphic work.

Finally, let me say that Regina Giménez is one of the most established artists in Catalonia not only because of the numerous exhibitions, but also for her exhibitions in museums and institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art of Tarragona, or the Vila Casas Foundation.

 Her work can be found in such prestigious collections as in the Testimoni de la Caixa Collection, the Banco de Sabadell collection, the Vila Casas Foundation and the MUSAC, just to name a few.

Listing Regina Giménez's entire artistic career in an incomplete way is certainly inappropriate, but it bears witness to the artist's consolidation. Consolidation that comes from the artist's own commitment to her work.

Therefore, Regina Giménez's exhibition at the Taranmana Gallery is an unmissable visit this fall.
